Reflection

ree

The aim of Strive for Strength is to educate and inspire the public and especially women to start powerlifting and strength training whilst maintaining entertaining elements.

I believe that although I have not had much website traffic I have impacted at least one person, to me that means I am successful in achieving my objectives. The person I believe I have impacted had commented regarding their fears of starting weight training due to the prospect of getting ‘bulky’, upon sharing information backed up by scientific findings they were thrilled and excited to begin weight training. I believe that given more time and potentially the opportunity of paid advertising within social media I would have gained more traffic and unique views. This would enable me to spread my knowledge and inspire more people, thus achieving my goals even more.

Over the 8 weeks of my blog, I have generated 54 site visits with 33 unique site visitors from around the globe. My most popular blog post was “10 Reasons Why You Should Lift Weights” which generated 15 post views from 5 unique visitors and has 3 likes. I believe this could be due to the large number of keywords included in the post regarding not only lifting terms but highly searched health conditions and this, therefore, increases the SEO. This is also the only post that achieved a comment.

I posted every Sunday with added promotional efforts being made on a dedicated Instagram which has 10 posts and 113 followers, this can be found at https://www.instagram.com/striveforstrengthuk/. I believe this is a great platform due to the ability to be easily found by those who are not following you through the use of hashtags. Due to Instagram limitations not allowing me to post my blog URL in the posts themselves, it hindered the interactivity. This is because the viewer would have to click through to the blog URL in my bio. It is also great to see that my target audience was reached with 68% of my followers are women between the ages of 13 and 54. I also utilised international women’s day to create a dedicated post in celebration. The most viewed Instagram post was the one promoting the most popular post on my blog. Other promotional efforts I made were linking my Bloglovin account to my blog so they could be available there immediately too, although I did no added promotion on there.

If I was to make any additional posts I would make a post on home workouts as due to the current pandemic of COVID-19 it is almost impossible for the average person to train the way they normally would, so giving the reader additional help would be beneficial for them.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey of this blog and love the fact that I have helped at least one person.
